There's A Sucker Born Every Minute

P.T. Barnum once said, "There's a sucker born every minute." Well, he must have not been referring to these suckers; they take two nights. :0)

When my kids were young, I made chocolate suckers for every occasion and holiday. They LOVED them (and still do). But, I haven't been asked to make suckers for many years. Lyle is a Teacher's Assistant for 5th grade, so he asked if I could make 60 suckers (there are two 5th grade classes) for Valentine's Day. No problem! Then it was, "While we're at it, could we just make another 28 for my class?" No problem! Well, one thing lead to another, and I ended up making 110 chocolate suckers.

It has been also been soooo many years since one of my kids have came home with a pouch filled with Valentine's. Those sweet 5th graders filled his pouch with cards and lots of candy. How nice to be loved!!!

  1. Well, you had me going at the title!!

I was very glad to get one of those suckers as well. I have never made them. We will have to do it together sometime.

  2. You never cease to amaze me in what you can do! I didn't know that you made sucker's! They look so good! Are they hard to make? How nice that they gave Lyle his own folder with Valentine's and candy. I don't blame them, he's so sweet! Love, Jill
P.S. Thanks so much for the Valentine e-card.
