A "Snow Day" (sort of)

For years and years, both of my kids have wished for a "big" snow that would close school for the day. The only time this has happened was in 1995 when Hilary was in Kindergarten. Last night we received a phone call around 7:30 p.m. from Mrs. Higgins, the third grade teacher at Redding Christian School, calling her list of families. She gave us the great news -- NO SCHOOL TODAY!!!! Not because of snow, but because of a broken water main. Whatever the reason, it was such GOOD NEWS!!!!

So, what do you do when you suddenly find out you don't have to go to school tomorrow? Plan something fun! The Juniors decided to meet at Denny's this morning at 9:00 a.m. for breakfast, WEARING THEIR PAJAMAS!! Sorry about the quality of the pictures; they were taken with a phone and e-mailed to me.

P.S. For breakfast, Lyle ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and cheesecake! What's with that? He is OBSESSED with grilled cheese sandwiches!!

  1. That Junior Class is quite the bunch. Didn't the school have a broken water pipe last winter as well?? I'm sure they were happy for their "broken pipe day", no matter!
